Having gained fame and adoration around Asia for her talent in singing the Oscar-nominated song A Love Before Time from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon as well as providing the voice for the female warrior Mulan in the Mandarin-language adaptation of Disney’s film, Coco Lee’s popularity was unparalleled. Known by many as the Asian Mariah Carey, her sudden demise has left fans in shock.

On July 2nd, Lee tragically attempted suicide at home and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors did all they could to save her. But on Wednesday, she lost her battle and passed away.
